Review: I read Flirting With Forty the summer of 2008, but wanted to include this review with Jane’s other books that I’m currently reviewing. Mainly because it’s one of my favourite reads! As an addicted fan of Jane Porter’s writing and Harlequin books, I was thrilled to see her branch out into the chick-lit genre.
Jackie goes on vacation alone to Hawaii to celebrate her fortieth birthday and falls for a younger man. A beautiful Hawaiian setting, a sexy hero, emotional turmoil, and family drama…now who could resist a story like that! :) The chemistry and romance between the two main characters is fun and exciting to read as well as the intervention scene with Jackie’s girlfriends.
I enjoyed this story so much, I purchased the movie and they say sometimes the movie isn’t as good as the book, well not in this case. I found the movie, starring Heather Locklear as Jackie, equally as enjoyable!
Jackie’s journey to ‘find herself’ is an absolute perfect read for any woman who thinks that life stops after 40.
Review Rating: 5/5 Hand Up! Gold Star!
