Let's get to know Angela!
Tell us a little about yourself.
A married mother of two, I split my time between bringing characters to life by computer, and yarn to life with needle and hook. I am an avid reader and crochet-er. I also like to garden, even though my green thumb has a little brown in it.
Please share an enticing tag line of your current work with us.
When a cupid has you in his sights, the only question to ask is, got love?
This is the tag line for my current WIP is tentatively titled, Got Love, and was written for a Valentine’s series my publisher The Wild Rose Press is putting together. A short story, it is currently with my editor, waiting for her critique.
If your book were made into a movie, who would you want to play your main characters?
I would love for either Mary Kate or Ashly Olsen and David Boreanaz to play Love and Danton. They were my character inspirations while writing Love’s Battle and it would just be even more a dream come true if that were to happen.
How do you come up with the titles of your books?
The title and blurb is usually what I start with when writing my books. I always try to think of something that would catch not only my own attention, but anyone else who might be interested in reading it. My main goal is that the title MUST sum up and deal with what the book is about. I think the title as the ultimate advertisement. Next is the cover and then the blurb. These three have to work hand in hand to get your book read.
What does your writing space look like?
The cluttered kitchen table is my most productive spot. Once I sit on the couch, it goes down hill from there. I get sleepy or want to read and nothing productive happens.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
Crocheting, reading, watching a great movie, drinking a cup of coffee and snacking.
What is your favourite color?
Hot pink, no doubt. I love it. I had a pair of hot pink sneakers (and plan to get some more), my phone case is hot pink, I love hot pink fingernail polish, and my car seat covers are zebra stripes with hot pink piping. Pink, pink, and more pink.
What is your favourite pleasure food?
Oh gosh, I am such a foodie. Meatloaf, hamburgers, and spaghetti is right there at the top. But I can’t say no to Papa John’s cheeseburger pizza. It’s awesome.
What is your favourite season?
Fall. I’m not the greatest cook, but fall is the only time I really want to be in the kitchen. I love to make soups, casseroles, and sweets when the weather grows chilly.
What is your favourite television show?
Bones (with David Boreanaz, what else?). They’re going on season 12, which is as long as my oldest has been alive! It’s one of the only shows the entire family will watch together.
What is your favourite movie?
I really had to think about this for a while. I was going to say that I didn’t have one, that it changes every time a new one comes out, but that’s not right. I haven’t seen it in a long time, but watched it about a billion times when I was growing up and that’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. A wonderful musical that I’m sure played a huge part in shaping the way I look at romance.
Who is your favourite actor?
Anna Kendrick. She’s the current character inspiration for my main character Flora in Got Love. I think she’s got an amazing sense of humor both on and off screen.
What is your favourite song?
Anything by Ed Sheeran. I have a running joke a home that he’s my boyfriend (sssh, don’t tell the hubby)! I listen to his X cd back to back in the car and it never fails, within 10 minutes of turning the radio on, one of his songs will come on. I swear, I’ve heard Thinking Out Loud the last 3 times I’ve been grocery shopping. It’s become a game to see who can hear and Ed song first while we’re out and about!
What is your favourite comfort clothing attire?
I love sweaters, so jeans, a tank top, a sweater, and a comfy pair of socks.
What books might we find on your bedside table?
The better question might be, what books won’t we find?! As I write this, I’m looking at books by John Sandford, Heather Graham Pozzessere, Karen Marie Moning, Jill Marie Landis, and Elizabeth Thorton waiting patiently for me to move them to the head of the line. We don’t even want to talk about my Kindle. I have a tad bit of an obsession.
Describe yourself in three words.
Chatter-box, Scatter-brained, and Eclectic. I’m all over the board. I like a lot of different things that I obsess over for several months before moving on to something new and repeating the pattern. Thank you so much for having me on today and allowing me to be a guest.

Love Howard has more than a knack for matchmaking. Born from a forbidden passion and a twelve-hundred-year-old promise, she and her sisters can literally see true love. And while Love has no problem bringing other couples together, her own romantic life could use a little help.
Danton DeAngelo has always been well grounded in reality. So it throws him for no small loop when the woman he’s fallen for believes that she’s been reincarnated eleven times and can actually see true love.
Now Danton is faced with the biggest decision of his life. Accept Love for who she really is, or walk away from her forever.
The hand Love pressed to her brow was visibly shaking. “There’s something I need to tell you. I just need you to keep an open mind.”
“What is it? Are you sick?” Danton asked.
“No, I’m not sick.” Her voice trembled on a forced laugh. “It’s something else. Something I‘ve been trying to prepare you for. This would be so much easier if you believed in magic. If you could believe that what I’m about to tell you is the honest truth.”
Turning, Love opened the iron chest, the hinges groaning with the effort as specks of rust littered the floor. From its depths she pulled out a clear plastic bag that she held tight to her chest, eyes closed, before handing it to a confused Danton.
“This is my tartan, my plaid. Before it faded and was dinner for the moths, it was once patterned in checks of green, gray, and brown. The purple and white stripes that ran through the hem identified the wearer as part of the royal family.” Love tapped the plastic, her finger pointing out where each color should be. “It was a gift from my father. The first and only time my sister’s and I met him, he was on his deathbed, we were eighteen. A week later our mother died in the same moment he drew his last breath.” Needing the extra air Love drew a breath of her own. “That day was the thirteenth of February, eight-hundred and fifty-eight AD. My father was Cinaed mac Alpin, crowned king of the Picts and Gaels. He was Scotland’s first king.”
“Eight- hundred and fifty-eight?” That couldn’t be right, she was only twenty-five. “Don’t you mean Nineteen-eighty-seven?”
“No. I was born for the first time in Scotland during the middle of the ninth century.”
