Been Busy with This and That

Wow, I can't believe it's been over two weeks since my last post! I guess my plan to blog on a regular basis isn't going so well, but then the best plans always seem to stray from a straight direction with so many twists and turns, and forks in the road.

I have been busy, though not with writing, but that's a story for another day.

I was asked to co-host a book mark event at a local book store in March, so I've been busy searching for new items, placing orders, and making book marks. I also needed to find a stand to display the designs, which I was lucky to find just last week. The stand was quite high, but for the price, I had to get it. I hoped my husband could cut in half to make two pieces, but when I picked it up to place it in the car, it suddenly fell apart. Two stands! Bonus!

The photo here shows one stand with some of the book marks clumped together, but I will be better organized at the event. I just wanted a photo of the stand with a few of the book marks I made last Saturday. I have about two more sets of designs to make.

I am really excited about this event. The manager of the book store said they are already receiving lots of interest. If I sell a few book marks  and cover my cost, I'll be happy. If I make above my cost, I'll be thrilled!

I made several unique designs to hold every reader's page. Dragons, fairies, skulls, and more, covering the romance reader, the fantasy reader, and the mystery reader.

This dragon book mark is one of my favourites.

I also like this one of a detailed pattern skull and dagger on a wine coloured ribbon.

I'm off to check the mailbox for a small order I've been waiting for this week with fairy wings and angel wings. I'll post photos once the designs are made.

Before I go, I'll leave you with one more photo. I removed my snowman glass center-piece from the dining room table last weekend and replaced it with a new one I made. My favourite cartoon character is Snoopy. This hand-drawn picture of Snoopy came out perfect. I love it, and the addition of the red roses makes it a lovely Valentine's center-piece on the table. Happy Valentine's Day!
