She came to sell a town…

But she found a home

Never in her wildest dreams could single mom Ella Monroe imagine co-inheriting the small town of Second Chance, Idaho—or falling for its curmudgeonly doctor, Noah Bishop. Despite his rough edges and protests for isolation, Noah has her believing in love at first sight again. But when she’s pressured to sell her stake, Ella is torn between family loyalty and following her heart.

Book Review
A sweet romance that grabbed my attention within the first chapter. The reading of Grandpa Harlan’s will was explosive. The author masterfully brought the scene alive, putting me in the room with the stunned family members. The main characters, Ella and Noah are perfect for each other. Their interaction is tender and witty. There is also a great cast of characters, some we get to know in this story and others I suspect to see in the future. Just a few of my favourite characters were: Penny – Ella’s daughter (loved her kissing game), Woof – the dog (too cute), and Shane – Ella’s brother-in-law (who is gruff and guarded yet has a soft side). Roy is a fun character as is Odette who holds a lot of wit and mystery. There are so many characters I want to know more about and to learn who will be paired. The snowy setting is picturesque and getting a look into the old buildings was enjoyable. There’s a history in this town and mystery around the corners. The author provides a look into the Monroes with a family tree, which I really liked the addition of. I was hooked at the end of this book and can’t wait to read book two of The Mountain Monroes, which will make it to the top of my reading list sooner than later. What a great start to a series. I look forward to what secrets the author reveals next.
