Author Interview - Karilyn Bentley

Today, I am very happy to welcome to The Author's Den, fellow rose from garden, Wild Rose Press author, Karilyn Bentley.

Karilyn, tell us a little about yourself.
Karilyn Bentley's love of reading stories and preference of sitting in front of a computer at home instead of in a cube, drove her to pen her own works, blending fantasy and romance mixed with a touch of funny. Karilyn lives in Colorado with her own hunky hero, two crazy dogs, aka The Kraken and Sir Barks-A-Lot, and a handful of colorful saltwater fish.

Please share an enticing tag line of your current work with us.
I'd love to! "Hell on earth becomes a real possibility."

Your novel is being made into a TV series/movie. Who’s in your dream cast?
Well, first I'd go screaming through the house. Then, let's see. I'd pick Olivia Munn for Gin Crawford and Stephen Amell as Aidan Smythe.

How do you come up with the titles of your books?
It's not until the end of the book that I come up with the title. Usually it has something to do with what is going on in the story, but for this book I had so much trouble with the title that one of my beta readers helped come up with it.

What does your writing space look like?
Right now I am writing at the kitchen table.

What do you like to do after meeting a word count/finishing a manuscript to relax and reward yourself?
Dance my 'I'm finished' dance, have a glass of wine, then go for a long walk.

What are your hobbies away from writing/the computer?
I love to read, take my dogs for hikes, and learn a language on an app

Where are your favourite places to read and to write?
You can usually find me curled up on the couch to read. Or if it's nice outside, I'll sit on a deck chair. Right now, I'm writing at the kitchen table. I like the view, it's more inspiring than the basement where my desk is located.

What are two things people might be surprised to know about you?
I recently discovered I love sledding. And I worked training puppies for a couple of months in grad school (although you could never tell by meeting my dogs!).

What books might we find on your bedside table?
The Night House by J.C. McKenzie, For this Knight Only by Barbara Bettis and One Feta in the Grave by Tina Kashian.

What can we expect from you next? Are you working on anything new?
I am! So far it's a secret but I should be able to announce it in a couple of months. I can't say much about it, but it does involve a ghost.

Where can we find you and your books online?

Let's take a peek at Karilyn's new release, available April 1, Devil Forget Me.

What appears to be a simple crime, unmasks a chilling deception...

Gin Crawford, the world's newest demon huntress, kills two minions who are breaking into a financial adviser's office. But what she thinks of as another night in the life of a demon huntress leads to a cover-up of epic proportions. A demon haunts her employer, the Agency, and only she can stop it.

Aidan Smythe, her guardian mage and lover, along with her brother T, and the healer Eloise, join her search in discovering the demon's identity. A search thwarted by a powerful spell.

Breaking the spell requires her to join forces with Zagan, the demon of deceit, the demon who marked her as his. But working together comes with a price. One Gin is not sure she can pay.
