#ONEWRITEWORD

After my first novel was published in 2011, I needed an author platform to brand myself as a published author and to promote my new book. I decided to create a blog but couldn’t think of a title.

For writers, sometimes finding the right words we’re looking for is difficult. But in written terms, we don’t necessarily need the ‘right’ words, we want the ‘write’ words

My blog, “Finding The Write Words” was born!

Fast forward many years to November 2024, I tried thinking of a blog post topic when a light bulb idea lit up my thoughts. Why not pick a word or words and create my post around that word. I also decided this new theme should have a keyword, like a hashtag. Using my blog title for inspiration, “One Write Word” was born!;

When I searched for the hashtag #onewriteword on Instagram, I assumed it would be in use due to millions of hashtags. But to my surprise #onewriteword didn’t exist. I am the creator of the hashtag #onewriteword!

Here’s how it works. Each month I randomly select five words and post them on my blog. Then each week, I use the word (in order) and design a graphic with the word and pictures to reflect the word’s inspiration.
#onewriteword isn’t just about writing, The words are also about motivating, prompting positivity and creativity, and life in general.

If you’re like me and want to engage on social media but are stuck on a topic and don’t know what to post, join the #onewriteword uprising.

Interpretation of the weekly word is how it fits your writing or life. Maybe it’s a word in your book – post the sentence. Maybe the word is part of a favorite quote – post the quote. Maybe the word inspires you – share why. How you interpret the weekly word and what day of the week you post it is up to you.

Want to make more friends? Share the #onewriteword hashtag with your followers and like other #onewriteword posts. The more shares and likes, the more friends we make!

I’ll share/repost/like all #onewriteword posts I see on Instagram and BlueSky.
