Most people dream about being swept off their feet. Nick did just that for Katrina ---literally. He saved her from harm in a construction zone. He then, not so politely, informed her about the importance about proper work attire -- aka a hard hat which BTW he bestowed upon her as a gift later on. Sweet and surprisingly romantic gesture. He continued to be quite the sweet, loving man even after encountering a bombshell regarding Katrina. Heck, he stood by her while she was dealing with a life changer of her own. An all their ups and downs wouldn't have been possible without dear ole' Gram. A woman with a heart of gold but harboring life-altering secrets of her own.

I was hooked on this book from the first I started reading. I knew that it was going to be good and I was right. I loved how Nick and Katrina found each other and in spite of their pasts, they finally realized that love was all they needed and that was with each other. I would love to read more of Darlene’s books.

A writing voice that will hold your attention and characters so real you’d like to have them in your own life. Katrina seems a little high-strung at times, but Nick is a grounding force that makes them a great couple. Both hero and heroine are hesitant to trust their hearts again. Will love win out with two such strong and stubborn personalities? It will if the twists engineered by Katrina’s Grandmother Faith, and the whims of Fate have anything to say about it. I thoroughly enjoyed this tender romance.

Another great read from this author. This is my third one by Darlene. She is a good solid romance writer and I always know I am going to enjoy it when I start one of hers. Darlene does a good job with the descriptions so I can easily visulize everything. I loved the two main characters - Katrina and Nick. The character development was very good. I thought they both were a bit on the stubborn side but that just added to the book. Great storyline, great characters, nice, fun romance - a win/win!
