Live Concerts

I love music. For me, listening to music is an escape and a way to relax. I listen to the radio while doing housework and I put earbuds in my ears and listen to some of my favourite tunes while vacuuming. Bluetooth has become my best friend, lol.

I enjoy several types of music, from classic rock, oldies, country, blues, jazz, pop, big band, sea shanties, and more!

I've been very lucky to see some of my favourite artists in concert. And while I've been to many concerts, here are my top five.

1. Michael Buble
After a three year delay from Covid, I finally got to see him last year and tears welled up in my eyes when he stepped onto the stage. Sigh...

2. The Rolling Stones (x3)
My husband is a huge Stones fan, and they are amazing live. We've seen them three times and each concert was awesome, even the last one in the rain. No one rocks a stage like the Stones.

3. Blue Rodeo (x2)
These guys are awesome, and I know the words to almost all of their songs!

4. Heart
My two nieces took me to this concert, which was a rocking good time!

5. Van Halen
My very first live concert. My brother and sister-in-law (his girl friend back then) took me to this concert because I was in love with Eddie Van Halen. I wrote the VH logo all over my school scribblers, lol. Great night, great music, and I got to see Eddie!

What are your top favourite live concerts?

  1. Years ago my sister and godsister were Jackson Five fanatics and begged me to take them to one of their concerts at Madison Square Garden. They were the Jacksons then and I must admit I was impressed.

  2. Lol. I'm not even sure I've BEEN to five. Peter, Paul, and Mary twice were my absolute favorite; Gary Puckett, Kenny Rogers, Kathy Mattea, the group my husband plays with: Three Old Guys.

    1. Hi Liz, thank you for stopping by! I like Peter, Paul, and Mary, especially Leaving On A Jet Plane. I've seen a couple of country artists in concert too - Alabama and Dwight Yoakum. I bet Three Old Guys is awesome!

    1. Hi Charlotte, oh I bet Springsteen was good. Were you dancing like Courtney Cox in the audience? ;)

  4. I never thought to use my bluetooth for music while doing chores! Thanks for the tip, Darlene! My top favorite concerts were Neil Diamond (saw him three times), Rod Stewart, the Chieftains, and Johnny Mathis.

    1. Hi Mary, thank you for stopping by! Definitely use bluetooth. I used to carry my phone in my pocket with the string head phones but I kept getting the string caught on things. I use my earbuds and connect them to my phone through bluetooth. Works great. Neil Diamond's music is so good. And I would like to see Rod in concert. Lucky you!

  5. Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Moody Blues, and Jethro Tull at Red Rocks but got teargassed and had to leave. Good times, lol

    1. Hi Gini! So happy you stopped by. What a great list of artists. I'm envious, though not about the teargas, lol. That's a story you have got to tell me about sometime.

  7. Love your choices. Van Halen was my first concert too. Our grade 9 teacher took my class on a field trip to see the band.

    1. Hi Gloria! That's quite a field trip to see a concert. My school trips were never that exciting.

  8. One of the best concerts ever was Tran-Siberian Orchestra two years ago. But in 1978 I attended a Billy Joel concert and got to meet and talk to him about his music afterwards. I was a young music teacher back then. He was very gracious and very talkative. One very memorable concert experience for me.
