How Thumper Became a Legend in Redford Falls

You may have read some of this information in a previous post, but I think Thumper deserves the extra attention...and a new graphic to highlight his importance in Redford Falls.

How Thumper Became a Legend in Redford Falls

Every town has its legends, but Redford Falls has Thumper. This soft-footed, bright-eyed, elusive rabbit has hopped through generations of family tales, drifting in and out of scenes like a whisper of fate.

Across all seven books in the Redford Falls series, Thumper is more than a symbol. He’s a quiet matchmaker, a furry cupid, and the thread that ties every love story together. Locals say that if you’re lucky enough to spot him, love is already on its way. His presence nudges hearts together and sets destiny in motion.

Thumper may be small, and he may not speak, but he plays as big a role as any character in the series, weaving magic into every love story in Redford Falls.

Romance in a Small Town: The Charm and the Challenge

In case you missed my book blog tour from the last week of May, for the next couple of days, I'm resharing the blog posts I wrote on those guest stops, so everyone can get to know a little more about Redford Falls.

This post was originally on Brenda Whiteside's Discover Blog.

Romance in a Small Town
The Charm and the Challenge

Small town romance has a magic all its own. There’s something irresistible about a place where everyone knows your name, your history, and sometimes even your business. In Redford Falls, that closeness creates the perfect blend of charm, tension, and heart. The charm comes from the community, the familiar faces, the shared traditions, and the sense of belonging that wraps around every story. But that same closeness can stir up trouble, too. Secrets don’t stay hidden for long. Old flames cross paths. And one unexpected moment can ripple through the whole town before lunchtime.

That’s what makes writing romance in a small town so much fun. The setting naturally pushes characters together, challenges them, and gives them a place to grow. Every interaction matters. Every choice echoes. Redford Falls thrives on that balance, the sweetness, the complications, the laughter, and the heart. And that’s exactly why I keep returning to it.

When a Series Refuses to Stay Quiet

In case you missed my book blog tour from the last week of May, for the next couple of days, I'm resharing the blog posts I wrote on those guest stops, so everyone can get to know a little more about Redford Falls.

This post was originally on Wild Women Authors Blog.

When a Series Refuses to Stay Quiet

Some series end on the page, but not in the writer’s mind. Redford Falls is one of those worlds that keeps nudging me long after a book is finished. Just when I think I’ve wrapped every storyline, a new voice steps forward, asking for a chance.

In book six, that voice belonged to the first of the five Marley brothers. Introducing Ethan opened a door I didn’t expect. The moment he arrived, his brothers made it very clear they wanted in, too. Each brother has a past and a tale that’s already taking shape in my notes. Plot threads, personality quirks, and emotional drama are all waiting and quietly building momentum.

That’s the thing about a series. It grows. It stretches. It surprises you. Redford Falls isn’t just a setting anymore. It’s a living, breathing community, and the Marleys are ready to take their place in it. So, stay tuned. There’s more coming from Redford Falls because the Marley brothers aren’t done talking yet.

It All Begins with the Characters

In case you missed my book blog tour from last week, for the next few days, I'm resharing the blog posts I wrote on those guest stops, so everyone can get to know a little more about Redford Falls.

This post was originally on Sparkling Reviews Blog.

It All Begins with the Characters

Characters are the soul of any story, and creating them is equal parts research, imagination, and intuition. Each one needs to feel unique in their quirks, their flaws, and their dreams. That means digging into who they are, where they come from, what shaped them, and how they’ll grow. And consistency matters. If a character has blue eyes in book one, they can’t suddenly have brown in book three. Readers notice these things, and so do the characters. They like to keep writers on their toes.

But the magic truly happens when they stop feeling like fictional creations and start feeling like friends. You cheer for them. You worry about them. You want them to find their happily ever after because you’ve walked beside them through every challenge and every triumph.

While the main characters often take center stage, secondary characters are just as vital. Sometimes they shine so brightly they demand a story of their own. And in Redford Falls, more than a few have done exactly that.

In the end, the right characters don’t just tell a story. They become the story.

Where Connections are Made

In case you missed my book blog tour from last week, for the next few days, I'm resharing the blog posts I wrote on those guest stops, so everyone can get to know a little more about Redford Falls.

This post was originally on Alicia Dean's Book Blog.

Where Connections are Made

In Redford Falls, connections aren’t just made, they’re woven into the very fabric of the town. Every story in this seven book series celebrates the friendships that grow from chance encounters, the families who rally around one another, and the bonds that deepen in the most unexpected moments.

Set against the backdrop of a cozy mountain town, Redford Falls offers more than scenic views. The ski resort hums with excitement, the local restaurant and lounge buzz with familiar laughter, and the chocolate shop tempts residents and visitors alike with sweet indulgence. These places aren’t just settings; they’re gathering spots where relationships spark, heal, and flourish.

Each book invites readers to return to a community where second chances feel possible, every character has a place, every relationship matters, and every book feels like a return visit to friends you’ve missed.

Why We Fall in Love with Book Series

In case you missed my book blog tour from last week, for the next few days, I'm resharing the blog posts I wrote on those guest stops, so everyone can get to know a little more about Redford Falls.

This post was originally on Lyndi's Adventurous Friends.

Why we fall in love with book series…
and why we never want them to end.

A standalone novel can sweep you away for a few hours, but a series gives you a deeper connection. There’s something magical about opening the first book in a series. You think you’re stepping into a story, but before long, you realize you’ve stepped into a world. A well-crafted series doesn’t just entertain. It invites you to stay awhile.

My own series, Redford Falls, was born from connection and community. Set in a charming small town, the series includes seven books. Each story follows different characters whose lives intertwine in unexpected and heartfelt ways. While every book stands on its own, together they form a tapestry of relationships, second chances, and the kind of small-town magic that keeps readers returning.

Throwback Thursday - The First Book

Today I'm reminiscing with a Throwback Thursday.

When I received my first publishing contract back in January 2011, I was over-the-moon. That day was a big moment for me as a writer, as I finally got my writing 'seen' as good enough to be published. The book was titled, Keeping Secrets, and was published by Secret Cravings Publishing. Keeping Secrets hit the eBook shelves in August 2011. Holding my first published paperback in my hands was the best feeling ever. Unfortunately, due to a family issue, Secret Cravings had to close their doors a few years later.

But that first publication was the start of something big. My next manuscript, One Sweet Christmas, was contracted by Escape Publishing in 2014, a digital imprint of Harlequin Australia, and they contracted another manuscript soon afterward.

Keeping Secrets didn't stay cold long. I edited the story and retitled it, Twist of Faith, and it was contracted by The Wild Rose Press, a New York publishing company in 2014.

I have a special place in my heart for that first book and not just because it was my first published manuscript. The story is one of my favorites as it takes place in Paris and Montreal. I now hold the rights to Twist of Faith and would like it to be republished on it's fifteenth birthday in August. Fingers crossed!
