Was it a Long Weekend?

Where did the past two weeks go?

I meant to schedule a post several times, but something always came up, and my blog took a ride in the back seat. I haven't been sitting idle that's for sure...even if the picture above implies just that, lol.

I've been working on my murder mystery story. It's really taking shape.

I've been reading which means I had a couple of book reviews to write and post.

A local bookstore requested another set of bookmarks, but instead of the ribbon ones I usually make, I used thin wood. I then designed ten digital art images to place on the wood. I'll share those designs in another post (hopefully this week).

I also did an acrylic paint pour! I think it's been a year since I last painted. Sunday was a rainy day, so I got a canvas out and started mixing paints. There is something about painting and letting your creativity flow that's relaxing and therapeutic. I did a straight cup pour and I am 90% happy with the results. There is one area where the white took over and while it made a cool bubble effect on one end, it went cloudy on the other. I plan to try it again this weekend and then I'll share both paintings.

Then there's my daily busy life of family and dogs.

Yesterday was a holiday (Canada Day), and even though it was a long weekend, with an extra day to relax, I didn't get to spend much time in my 'happy place' (photo at top). Our glider loveseat arrived, but we didn't get to enjoy it much on the weekend due to rain. Of course, now that the weekend is over, the sun has returned. Typical Atlantic Coast weather.

I hope to make it back here again this week to share some art work. Fingers crossed!
