I've been waiting since March 2024 to receive an appointment date for a MRI to find out how bad my cervical neck issues are. After our family doctor retired a few years ago, we were assigned to her replacement, which was a nurse practitioner. She was the one who sent me for X-rays and a CT scan. With pain increasing in my left shoulder, I called two weeks ago to make an appointment to see her, only to be told she retired. What!? The administration office couldn't have called her patients to let them know!? Not only did this upset me, but then I found out it would take two months for me to see her replacement (another nurse practitioner). How messed up is that!? But since new doctors are non-existent or existing ones are not taking new patients, I don't have any choice but to wait two months.
With our health care a mess, taking care of our physical and mental health is vital, and we have to do it on our own. My aging body isn't happy, but I have to stay strong mentally to withstand the physical.
I walk my dogs every day and I'm back on my treadmill. Fingers crossed I win the battle!
