Spring Flowers in Bloom

After a long winter, and a spring that started with below than normal temperatures, the perennials are blooming. The photo on the right (tall stems and white buds) is a Lily of the Valley and the purple flowers on the left is a Bleeding Heart. Both plants will keep their blooms until early summer.

I love this time of year when the flowers come alive and the garden is filled with colour. So much better than a long and dreary, white winter. This past week has been sunny and warm, and the flowers are flourishing. Now, I just need to remember to water them! :-)
