Happy Little Mushroom

My daughter saw a similar drawing and asked me to design one for her. 

I started from scratch and grabbed my sketch book and a pencil. I drew the mushroom and then uploaded my sketch into my digital app where I made the little guy shine in colour.

I just saw this early book review on Goodreads for Trickster.

"Trickster is included in the Mortar & Pestle series which is penned by various authors. However the story is set in Redford Falls so fans of that series will enjoy this fun read as well. There is a delightful touch of myth and magic and the Redford Falls rabbit also makes an appearance. This well thought-out story has believable and relatable characters and the pacing keeps the story moving. The relationship between Jade and Eric is a beautiful reminder of all those exciting feelings that are so special and unique when meeting and being with someone for the first time. As with all of Darlene Fredette's books, I enjoyed this one and recommend Trickster and all her books for a satisfying read that will leave you smiling."

Llama with Feathers

I drew this llama a few years ago and it's one of the rare pieces where I used colour pencils. The feathers in the llama's hair needed to be noticed and colour was the only way to make them stand out.

My daughter loves llamas, so I made this drawing for her, which she still has on the wall in her room.

Take Five Tuesdays - Careers

Welcome back to my new feature - Take Five Tuesdays! 

Today, we're talking about Careers - The ones you had and the ones you wish you had. 

First up, these are the career positions I achieved - not including my roles of artist and author. 

1. Director of Administration and Marketing 

2. Office Manager 

3. Pharmacy Benefits Supervisor 

4. Payables Accountant 

5. Mail Room Clerk 

I worked my way up the ladder from a cashier at a pharmacy to achieving my career goal. I am happy to now be retired and spend my time writing books and practicing my art skills.

But, these were my dream jobs.

1. Volcanologist 

2. Geologist 

3. Astronomer 

4. Veterinarian 

5. Archaeologist

I would have loved to study volcanoes, space, earth, rocks, and finding artifacts of history, and of course helping animals.

What career paths did you follow and which ones do you wish you followed?

Sunset Sail

I wanted to try a digital drawing with multi layers of different shades and found a photo in Pixabay. Of course - as I always do - I changed a few things to give the piece my own unique spin. This definitely helped me learn more about layering and masking.

Wall Art

Last weekend, I watched a digital art tutorial for this Wall Art. I always put my own spin on drawings and changed the clouds and used different colours for the sun and plant.

Thank you to Art With Flo for the tutorial. I learned a lot with layers as well as the tools that allow you to move a drawing to duplicate it (the stairs), as well as creating depth for the door and windows.

Looking forward to watching and leaning more from Flo.
